Trump’s DOGE Blocks USAID Leadership As Headquarters Is Sealed Off

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has been locked down as President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, executed a full takeover. USAID’s leadership has been completely cut off from its own operations, with the agency’s headquarters sealed off and its financial networks placed under DOGE control.

DOGE officials moved in and took control of USAID’s systems, locking out more than 600 employees overnight. Two top security officials, including Director of Security John Voorhees, were placed on leave after attempting to block DOGE’s access to classified information. By morning, yellow police tape surrounded the headquarters, ensuring no return for agency staff.

Musk confirmed on X that Trump had reviewed the findings and supported dismantling USAID. The White House issued a statement condemning the agency for years of reckless spending, highlighting taxpayer money funneled into DEI programs, electric vehicle subsidies, and left-wing initiatives abroad. Officials argue USAID has operated as an unaccountable funding arm for radical causes.

Further investigation into USAID’s finances has uncovered its ties to Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company linked to Hunter Biden. Reports also reveal the agency funneled money toward efforts to legally undermine Trump, raising concerns about its political influence. Republicans argue that much of USAID’s $40 billion budget is wasted on bureaucracy rather than legitimate aid.

Democrats and federal employee unions have launched legal challenges, accusing DOGE of unlawfully accessing personnel and financial records. Senate Democrats have demanded answers from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, questioning how DOGE agents managed to secure USAID’s records and operations so quickly.

USAID’s website and internal databases have gone offline, and discussions are reportedly underway about merging the agency into the State Department. With its leadership removed and funding frozen, USAID’s ability to function is now in serious jeopardy.
