Trump And Netanyahu To Meet At Mar-A-Lago Amid Tensions

Former President Donald Trump announced he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago this Friday. This meeting comes as Vice President Kamala Harris declined to preside over Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress on Wednesday.

Trump originally scheduled the meeting for Thursday but changed it to Friday, July 26, at Netanyahu’s request. On Truth Social, Trump posted, “Looking forward to welcoming Bibi Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, on Thursday. During my first term, we had Peace and Stability in the Region, even signing the historic Abraham Accords – And we will have it again.”

Trump emphasized his “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH” agenda, contrasting it with what he sees as Harris’s inability to manage global conflicts. He stated, “Just as I have said in discussions with President Zelensky and other World Leaders in recent weeks, my PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH Agenda will demonstrate to the World that these horrible, deadly Wars, and violent Conflicts must end. Millions are dying, and Kamala Harris is in no way capable of stopping it.”

Netanyahu’s address to Congress will focus on US-Israel relations amid ongoing conflicts with Hamas and other Iran-backed groups in the Middle East. His visit has sparked plans for anti-Israel protests in Washington, D.C. Roll Call reported that congressional offices are preparing for these demonstrations.

A Capitol Police representative commented, “For safety reasons, we never provide specific security details, but generally we can say that our plan includes adding more officers — including from several outside agencies — continuing our robust intelligence sharing with our partners, and ensuring that we have enough resources for our teams.”
