Trump Administration Turns Biden’s Migrant Entry App Into Tool For Self-Deportation

The Trump administration has completely overhauled the CBP One app, which the Biden administration used to funnel over a million illegal migrants into the country. Now, the app has a new purpose — helping illegal aliens voluntarily leave the United States before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removes them.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced Monday that migrants can now use the app to submit their intent to depart, giving them a chance to leave the U.S. before facing arrest and deportation. Noem warned those who refuse to comply. “If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.”

The Trump administration wasted no time dismantling Biden’s border policies. On his first day back in office, Trump shut down the CBP One entry program, which allowed thousands of migrants to bypass normal immigration procedures. The administration also canceled all pending appointments through the app, leaving many migrants stranded in Mexico.

The revamped system, renamed “CBP Home,” now allows migrants to track their departure and verify their exit from the country. The app will automatically update on devices that had previously used Biden’s version, providing DHS with a way to monitor compliance.

ICE has also intensified deportation efforts, prioritizing illegal immigrants with criminal records and those with outstanding deportation orders. At the same time, border officials have reported record-low illegal crossings, as migrants reconsider their chances of staying under Trump’s strict enforcement policies.

As part of its immigration crackdown, DHS has launched a national and international ad campaign warning migrants to leave voluntarily or face removal with no possibility of returning. Noem made it clear: “If you come to our country and break our laws, we will hunt you down.”
