St. Louis Officer’s Death By Illegal Immigrant Linked To Open Border Policies

The tragic death of St. Louis Police Officer David Lee, struck and killed by an illegal immigrant, is a stark reminder of the consequences of the Biden-Harris administration’s failure to secure the border. Officer Lee was responding to a crash on Interstate 70 when 24-year-old Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez, an illegal immigrant, hit him while driving drunk.

Chavez-Rodriguez had been on probation for domestic assault and DWI at the time of the crash and was driving without a license. His blood alcohol content was .10, and he was speeding at 71 mph in a 55 mph zone when he hit Lee, pinning him between vehicles. Officer Lee’s death leaves behind a grieving wife, two children, and a devastated community.

This is not the first time an illegal immigrant has been responsible for a preventable death in the U.S. In Texas alone, data from 2011 to 2024 shows that 312,000 illegal noncitizens were arrested for violent crimes. The list includes 1,604 murder charges, more than 90,000 assaults, and over 9,000 sexual assaults.

The Biden-Harris administration continues to push policies that allow illegal immigrants to cross the border, putting American lives at risk. Critics argue that had the administration enforced stricter border security, Officer Lee might still be alive today. His death, like so many others, is a painful reminder of the need for strong immigration enforcement.
