Soros-Backed News Network Boosts Anti-Trump Messaging In Nevada

A media outlet funded by billionaire George Soros is stepping up efforts in Nevada to influence voters against President Donald Trump and other Republicans. The Nevadan, a site operated by Courier Newsroom, has been promoting Democrat candidates like Vice President Kamala Harris and Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) while spreading claims designed to undermine Trump’s credibility.

Courier, established by Democrat strategist Tara McGowan, has been criticized for posing as a local news network while primarily serving as a vehicle for Democrat propaganda. The network, operating in several key swing states, claims to fight misinformation, but watchdogs like NewsGuard argue it is engaging in misleading tactics. They describe Courier as a “clandestine political operation” hiding behind a façade of local journalism.

In Nevada, The Nevadan has been pushing stories that falsely suggest Trump is planning to reinstate the military draft, a rumor he has firmly denied. Critics argue that this content, amplified by targeted ads on platforms like Facebook, is meant to manipulate undecided voters.

Though critics have called for greater transparency, Courier’s operations continue unchecked due to a 2022 Federal Election Commission ruling that classifies the organization as a legitimate news outlet. Soros’s funding, reportedly exceeding $20 million, has been crucial in expanding Courier’s reach across swing states.

As election season heats up, voters in Nevada and beyond are likely to see more content crafted to discredit Trump and bolster vulnerable Democrat candidates.
