Polls Show Trump Leads Haley In New Hampshire Primary

Former President Donald Trump has established himself as the clear frontrunner of the GOP presidential field after routing his opposition in the Iowa caucuses, with polls now showing him leading former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) in the New Hampshire primary.

NBC News reported that polls from the Boston Globe/NBC-10/Suffolk and St. Anslem College all show the former president defeating Haley by double-digit percentage points. The surveys show the former South Carolina governor performing well with independent voters but struggling with her fellow Republicans.

Trump leads Haley by 40 points among registered Republicans in The Granite State. Such a wide lead proves the former president has the strength to win the New Hampshire primary.

In The Granite State, Republican and independent voters are split in the state’s likely electorate, marking a stark contrast to Iowa, where there are 82% of Republican caucusgoers.

In good news for Haley, the polls demonstrate her gaining support among independents following the departure of former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) in the GOP presidential race. Before dropping out, Christie had been performing well with independents in New Hampshire, according to polls.

Despite performing well among independents, it appears that Haley will be defeated by Trump in the upcoming primary.

The newly released Boston Globe/NBC-10/Suffolk poll shows the former president leading Haley by 17 points in The Granite State.

Among independents, the survey shows Haley ahead of Trump by 11 points, but among likely primary voters who are registered Republicans, the former president leads the former South Carolina governor by a whopping 37 points.

The St. Anslem College survey also shows Trump defeating Haley by 14 points in New Hampshire. Among registered Republicans, the former president holds a 40-point advantage over Haley.

In a devastating blow to Haley’s presidential bid, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) recently endorsed the former president ahead of the New Hampshire primary.

During a Trump campaign rally in New Hampshire, Scott said, “It’s time for us to unite our party so that we make sure that the only target we’re talking about is firing Joe Biden. The best way for us to get rid of Joe Biden as our president is to unite our party now behind Donald Trump.”
