NJ Senator Calls For Drone Ban To Address Growing Concerns

New Jersey state Sen. Jon Bramnick (R) is urging the state to declare a “limited state of emergency banning all drones” as reports of unidentified aerial activity continue to spread. The sightings, which began in mid-November, have caused widespread concern among residents and lawmakers.

Bramnick posted his proposal on X, stating, “The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings.”

Witnesses have reported bright-light drones hovering over areas such as President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course and the Picatinny Arsenal military base. The sightings have now expanded to Staten Island, New York, further amplifying fears.

Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-NJ) has called for federal agencies, including the FAA and Department of Homeland Security, to investigate. Kean stressed the importance of safeguarding both privacy and security, stating, “The safety and privacy of our residents must be a top priority.”

Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has reassured the public that there is no immediate danger but acknowledged the need for continued monitoring. “We are actively coordinating with our federal and law enforcement partners,” Murphy said in a recent statement.

Bramnick’s proposed ban underscores the urgency of addressing the drone activity as residents demand answers. The unexplained sightings have become a pressing issue, highlighting the need for swift and transparent action from authorities.
