NBA Writer Fired For Criticizing A Team’s Pro-Israel Message

A writer for the National Basketball Association (NBA), on behalf of the Philadelphia 76ers, was recently fired after criticizing the team’s post on X, formerly known on Twitter, showing support for Israel as the Holy Land undergoes attacks by Hamas, a terrorist organization.

Jackson Frank had only been a month into his job as a writer for the Philadelphia 76ers before getting fired for criticizing the team, according to Breitbart News.

Recently, the Philadelphia 76ers’ official X account posted a message asking their supporters to #StandWithIsrael.

“We stand with the people of Israel and join them in mourning the hundreds of innocent lives lost to terrorism at the hands of Hamas,” the Sixers recently wrote on X, adding the hashtag #StandWithIsrael.

Frank didn’t hold back his feelings in response to the Philadelphia 76ers’ post, writing, “This post sucks! Solidarity with Palestine always,” per the New York Post.

Frank’s employer wasn’t too delighted with the former writer’s response.

“Mr. Frank is no longer employed by as of today,” CEO Hal Donnelly said in a statement to the New York Post. “We stand with everyone who is absolutely outraged by the senseless attacks in Israel, by the loss of innocent lives and violence against civilians.”

Upon getting fired, Frank deleted his X account.

To date, at least 800 Israelis and nine Americans have been reported dead from the brutal attacks by Hamas. Among the deceased were 260 individuals who attended a concert at the Tribe of Nova music festival, when Palestinian terrorists paraglided into Israel over the Gaza Strip border, as reported by the New York Post.

After this unprecedented attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally declared that the Holy Land was at war with Hamas, something that hadn’t been done since the Yom Kippur War of 1973.

“Citizens of Israel, we are at war. Not an operation, not a round [of fighting,] at war! This morning Hamas initiated a murderous surprise attack against the state of Israel and its citizens,” Netanyahu recently said in a filmed statement, according to The Times of Israel.

“We have been in this since the early morning hours. I have convened the heads of the defense establishment. I’ve given directives, first and foremost, to clear the [affected] urban areas of the terrorists who penetrated them,” Netanyahu added. “This is happening right now.”
