It is completely outrageous that Pete Hegseth, President Trump’s nominee for Defense Secretary, is being attacked over a sexual misconduct allegation from 2017 that has already been thoroughly investigated and dismissed. Despite the Monterey Police Department finding no evidence to support the claim, the media and some within the Trump transition team continue to amplify this baseless accusation, seeking to derail Hegseth’s nomination.
The claim was originally investigated by the Monterey Police Department, which found no merit to the accusation. Yet, Vanity Fair recently revived the allegation, reporting that Trump’s incoming Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, was briefed about the matter. According to anonymous sources within the transition team, the issue was serious enough to warrant a meeting between Hegseth, Wiles, and Trump’s legal team. Hegseth, however, has consistently denied the allegation, describing it as a consensual encounter.
STOP THE BACKSTABBING 🐍 The letter sent to try to get Hegseth out was leaked by someone trying to destroy Trump's cabinet picks. "It doesn't matter that the letter was sent, it matters that it was sent to the transition team and not the media." @JFRadioShow pic.twitter.com/89TxirVLq3

Hegseth’s lawyer, Timothy Parlatore, quickly responded, pointing out that the police investigation had already cleared his client of any wrongdoing. The fact that this allegation is being used as a weapon against Hegseth, despite having been thoroughly resolved, is deeply troubling. It raises the question: why is this claim being reignited now, and who is behind these leaks?
Critics suspect that the leaks are part of an internal effort to block Hegseth’s nomination. With multiple leaks now making their way to the press, it’s becoming increasingly clear that someone within the transition team may have a personal agenda. This is not about seeking justice; it’s about sabotaging the nomination of a qualified individual.
What a shock 🫤
…Dems leak ANOTHER "sexual something or other" story to try to discredit a great Republican appointee.
I'm so over this – I still like Hegseth…this changes nothing.

Additionally, The Washington Post published a follow-up report, alleging that Hegseth paid the accuser in 2023. While Hegseth maintains his innocence, these leaks continue to swirl, undermining the integrity of the transition process. It’s time to stop using discredited allegations to harm Hegseth’s reputation.
This pattern of leaks must be stopped immediately. Someone in the Trump transition team is actively working against Hegseth’s confirmation, and it is time to identify and remove the source. The integrity of the confirmation process must be protected, and these smear tactics cannot be allowed to continue.
