Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry To Fly MAGA Flag In Honor Of Trump’s Inauguration

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R-LA) announced that he will fly a Make America Great Again (MAGA) flag at the Governor’s Mansion on January 20 to celebrate President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. Landry shared the announcement on social media Friday, encouraging others to join him in displaying MAGA flags in honor of the event.

“BREAKING: Governor Landry to fly Make America Great Again flag at Louisiana Governor’s Mansion on Jan. 20 in honor of the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump,” Landry posted.

“While we know this is difficult for many attendees, we strongly suggest people who are in Washington for the event attend other indoor venues of their choice to watch the inauguration,” the committee advised.

The announcement follows House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) decision to fly American flags at full staff at the U.S. Capitol on Inauguration Day. This move directly contradicts President Joe Biden’s order to lower flags to half-staff in remembrance of former President Jimmy Carter.

“On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump,” Speaker Johnson declared on X. He also noted that flags would return to half-staff the following day to honor Carter.

Landry’s actions highlight the growing momentum behind President Trump and signal strong Republican unity in Louisiana. With both Landry and Johnson publicly backing Trump, the state’s leadership is aligning closely with the former president’s agenda.

This bold display of support is likely to resonate with conservative voters across the nation as Trump begins his second term.
