CPAC Endorses Donald Trump For President in 2024

Organizers for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) — which bills itself as “the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world” — endorsed former President Donald Trump for president in 2024 on Thursday.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, CPAC — a conference sponsored by the American Conservative Union — wrote, “#CPAC endorses President Donald Trump for President of the United States. It’s time to bring back our country and freedom.”

The post included a video of Trump on the CPAC stage last year saying, “The radical left is exposed. They’re weak and their pathetic policies have been out there long enough now that we don’t want them. We’ll never take them. We are bringing back our country and we are bringing back our freedom.”

“The socialists, globalists, Marxists, and communists who are attacking our civilization have no idea of the sleeping giant they have awoken [ … ] They cannot even begin to imagine the brave and righteous spirit they have unleashed in men and women like all of you here today, and this is some crowd — we broke the record again,” Trump added.

“Now is the time to unite and support the candidate who best can accomplish what is needed to put America back on track,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp.

“The extreme leftist Marxists have infiltrated our colleges, universities, elementary schools, the military, in fact, all of our sacred institutions,” Schlapp continued. “As conditions at the border, the economy, and culture dramatically worsen every day, one person has again clearly won the hearts and minds of conservatives for his tireless commitment to make America great again.”

In other remarks at CPAC, Trump explained the importance of the economy and a strong foreign policy stance, “We rebuilt our economy and energy independence and all of those things, but you also have to portray a strength to the outside world, otherwise, they’re going to walk all over you, and that’s what they’re doing right now.”

“You could take the five worst presidents in American history and put them together and they would not have done the damage that Joe Biden’s administration has done in just a very short 13 months,” Trump said, taking a jab at his 2020 election opponent.
