Allstate CEO’s Sugar Bowl Remarks Draw Fire From Brett Favre

Brett Favre has criticized Allstate CEO Tom Wilson over a message delivered during the Sugar Bowl broadcast. The remarks, which followed a terrorist attack in New Orleans, have sparked backlash online.

Wilson referenced the attack, in which 14 people were killed, and called for Americans to overcome divisiveness. “We also need to be stronger together by overcoming an addiction to divisiveness and negativity,” Wilson said.

The comments did not sit well with Favre, who criticized both the message and the absence of a televised National Anthem. On X, Favre wrote, “Woke is a joke,” accusing Wilson of promoting divisive ideology.

Social media users joined Favre in expressing outrage, with some demanding boycotts of Allstate or Wilson’s resignation. Many felt the focus on diversity was misplaced given the gravity of the tragedy.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Allstate defended Wilson, saying he “unequivocally condemns this heinous act of terrorism.” The statement described the CEO’s remarks as part of a broader effort to foster positivity in communities.

The attacker, Shamsud Din Jabbar, rammed a truck into a crowd before engaging police in a firefight. An ISIS flag was found on his vehicle, according to authorities.
